There are a lot of good people all over the globe who deserve to win praise. And this is what happened with a restaurant owner because of an act of kindness and forgiveness, that went viral and inspired many people.
The owner of Diablo’s Southwest Grill in Augusta in Georgia, Carl Wallace was recently taken aback when he arrived af his restaurant one morning to see the glass of the front door shattered. Talking to local WRDW he informed that someone trespassed their restaurant at 4 am at Diablo’s Wheeler Road location but couldn’t take much.
The surveillance camera showed the footage of the thief walking away from the cash register, but the owner said it was empty.
Carl Wallace said: “They’re risking so much every time they do this: to the business owner, to themselves, or what could happen if the police show up during the process of the break in”.
Talking to CNN, Carl Wallace admitted that the initial reaction he had was “anger and frustration”. Then he felt sorry for the person and wrote on Facebook the following: “Our burritos are such a smash hit we’ve got people breaking in at 4am for their fix. To the would be robber who is clearly struggling with life decisions or having money issues… please swing by for a job application”. Giving out his personal phone number in the post, showing how considerate he was, he added: “There are better opportunities out there than this path you’ve chosen”.
He also pointed out: “No police, no questions. Let’s sit down and talk about how we could help you and fix the road you’re on. Sincerely Carl”.
Carl Wallace added: “We all as humans have to have a level of forgiveness to each other, and try to find a better way because there’s so much hate in this world… we don’t understand each other’s problems and challenges in life” he said.
The post went viral and many praised his action, especially saying that this comes at a time when the restaurant industry has been hit by the pandemic and many have to shut their business.
